I'm the co-owner of the Corvallis Birth Center and I'm so happy you have chosen to look into the option of using a midwife! I received my Certified Professional Midwife credential from the North American Registry of Midwives, as well as my license from the State of Oregon as a Licensed Direct Entry Midwife in 2013. I completed the 90 hour education requirement and 1000 clinical hours required to sit for the IBCLC exam in 2016, and received my credential in 2017.
Providing midwifery care and prenatal education allows me to draw on my background in education. Giving families the most current research and evidence based information helps them make the best decisions for their families.
My husband and I have four children, all born at home. In my free time I love to read, sew, bake and spend time outside.
I am a Certified Professional Midwife (and an Oregon Licensed Direct Entry Midwife), lifelong learner and homeschooling mom of five. Our five children were all born into the hands of midwives, the first in a hospital, the next two at freestanding birth centers, and the next two at home.
My husband and I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and briefly lived in Syracuse, New York, prior to settling in Oregon's MidValley.
Since 2010, I have been attending births and providing care, support, and education to women and their families. I attended the National Midwifery Institute. For my clinical training, I was able to apprentice at a freestanding birth center, birth clinic in Haiti, and a home birth midwifery practice.
My idea of fun is taking a class or workshop, playing a board game, reading a new book or discussing midwifery and women's health issues with friends. Around town, you'll see me at the farmer's market, the library or the grocery store (with a bunch of kids, it's hard to stay away).
I graduated from Mercy In Action College of Midwifery in 2018, and became a Certified Professional Midwife and was licensed in Oregon as a Direct Entry Midwife. My pathway to midwifery began in 2012 when I started babysitting for Liz, who was in midwifery school herself. One thing led to another, and after going with her to a Midwifery Today conference plus reading most of the books in her home library; I knew I had found my lifelong career that I would always feel passionate about. I have struggled with infertility and I am passionate about offering support and education on fertility to those who need it
I’ve been accruing animals over the years, someday I’ll have a small farm! When I’m not at work I’m often with the animals; maybe feeding the chickens and ducks a watermelon, fighting for the keyboard with one of the cats, or out and about with a dog! In my free time I enjoy hiking, going to concerts, swimming, photography, reading, taking classes, visiting the coast, and spending as much time as I can outdoors!
My journey with midwifery began with a fascination for childbirth, a passion for relationship and connection, and the drive to bring empowerment and education to the birthing world.
My education began at the University of College Cork, in Ireland. In their Bachelor of Midwifery program I gained experience working with women in the hospital, which tested my resolve for working in the midwifery world, because it was nothing like I pictured. When COVID started everything halted, and I
moved home to be with my family while the world was unsure of everything.
At the beginning of 2021 I decided that my journey with midwifery was not over and I restarted my education with the National Midwifery Institute. I passed my licensing exam in August of 2023, and find myself falling in love with midwifery more and more each day.
When I am not working with the birthing practice I enjoy getting outside with my dog and breathing in the fresh air at the top of a mountain where the view is priceless; I also enjoy throwing on a potter's wheel, long boat rides, horseback riding, reading and boardgames.
I have been around birth since my teen years, first witnessing the births of my friends’ children. Then again, during my days in nursing school. It was there I witnessed 13 births, including the most memorable of all “the one” that called me.
I have been working in the birth world since 2014, starting as a postpartum nurse and birth assistant. Realizing I wanted to become more involved, I began my journey into midwifery. I graduated from Frontier Nursing University in 2019 with my Masters degree and obtained my CNM certification. I joined the Corvallis Birth Center part-time in February 2020 and transitioned to full-time in May 2020.
I am passionate about working with women and their families and I am honored to walk with them through such an amazing time in their lives. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my husband, our children, families, and friends. I enjoy learning new things, reading all sorts of books, and spending time outdoors and working in our garden. I enjoy dabbling in sewing, quilting, painting and I love to be creative!
I am a dedicated naturopathic doctor with a Master's in Global Health, and discovered my passion for midwifery in 2014 while attending births in the Philippines. I graduated from Corban University with a Bachelor's in Health Sciences and became a licensed naturopathic doctor specializing in natural childbirth in September 2023 after graduating from the National University of Natural Medicine.
I became a licensed midwife in February 2024 and am also recognized as a CPM by the North American Registry of Midwives, although I do not practice under that license.
I am married and have 2 children, both born at freestanding birth centers. I enjoy travelling the world, advocating for ethical global health engagements, and spending time with my family.
I spent much of my early professional life traveling and living in the US, Latin America and Europe, working with non-profits, humanitarian groups, and peace activists. I gained an understanding and appreciation of healthcare and birth in low-resource settings and different cultural contexts. My fascination with women’s health and holistic healing led me to become a massage therapist, prenatal yoga teacher, and birth and postpartum doula.
I became an RN and worked for 10 years in labor and delivery at a hospital-based birthing center in Southern Oregon. In 2024, I graduated with a master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University and finally achieved my dream of becoming a midwife! I believe that birthing families have the right to informed choice about how and where they will welcome their children into the world and am excited to assist with that journey.
My own two kids were born at home into the hands of their father with the help of amazing midwives. Together, we live on a small farm next to the Applegate River with several friends plus 6 dogs, 3 cats, and a lot of chickens. Our land produces an abundance of food which we share, preserve and cook into gourmet meals. My family is active in sports and local community theater. When I’m not commuting to Corvallis, I love exploring our mountains and rivers by skiing, hiking, and kayaking. And on a really good day I can even sneak in a yoga practice or a dance parties!

I have been a certified doula and childbirth educator for 19 years, and have been working as a birth assistant since 2023. I love supporting families and empowering women through education and physical support. I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we're raising our kiddos on our hobby farm. I love to garden, cook, preserve food and explore the outdoors hiking and kayaking.
I am a dedicated LPN and doula, with a deep passion for maternal and newborn health. I graduated from Mercy in Action Midwifery School in 2020 and earned my LPN from the Institute of Technology in 2023. As a loving mother, I understand the sacredness of childbirth, and am committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and baby during this transformative journey.
My name is Heidi, and I am a Lamaze certified childbirth educator, a certified birth doula, a lactation specialist, midwives birth assistant, and self described birth nerd.
I am a mom to five children ages 6-14 and I am very passionate about what I do! Watching people become informed, advocate for themselves and feel supported, brings me so much joy.
I had my three children at home with MidValley Birthing Services. I had such wonderful experiences with my births, I wanted to help provide that to other families. I have a degree in Biology from Oregon State University. I am also a Certified Doula, and I enjoy continuing my education with the midwives and in my personal life.
I have a passion for caregiving and advocating for all to access fair and adequate healthcare, no matter their circumstances. I do not shy away from uncomfortable conversations and I would love to help you advocate for yourself as well. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my friends and family, read, hike, raft, camp, snowshoe, and teach my kids in some great homeschool communities.
I have been attending births since 2006. I started as a doula for friends and family in the hospital. I also volunteered through a First-Visitor program to help support and teach teenage mothers how to care for and breastfeed their newborns after leaving the hospital. I've been certified and licensed since 2015.
